Connecting with other caregivers

Caregiving isn’t doing it all by yourself

You are not alone in your caregiving journey. You may feel that “I am the only one thinking and feeling this way”. Actually, there are many other caregivers, who are in their respective stages of this journey, feeling the same as you do or even have the same questions that you are thinking of.

You can speak up to share your innermost feelings which can help reduce the sense of isolation and relieve some of the emotions you may have. Through your sharing, other caregivers can learn from your experience and get useful advice to support each other in this journey together.

Caregiver support network

The Caregiver Support Network Community Outreach Team, also known as the (CREST)-Caregiver Support Network (CSN) focuses on caregivers who are caring for persons at risk of or with mental health issues and/ or dementia. These individuals may have or are at risk of developing depression, anxiety and burn-out themselves due to their caregiving role. You may search for your nearby CREST-CSN team here.

Besides CREST-CSN, there are also Caregiver Support Network (CSN) which aims to support and connect with caregivers caring for persons living with dementia, mental health, or physical health conditions. The goal of CSN is to empower caregivers through a Peer Support Network focusing on self-care, mindset change and recognition. They are available in the following neighbourhood, which are also our Dementia-Friendly Communities (DFCs), and nationwide to enable caregivers to care for themselves and to become pillars of support for one another. Look for the CSN near you.
