Enhancing Senior Engagement with Geragogy
What are the Geragogy Guidelines?
Senior learners have distinct characteristics compared to others, and their learning needs also differ. The Geragogy Guidelines (SS 693) was created to establish a national standard that aims to strengthen the quality of training design and delivery for senior learning in Singapore.
Through these guidelines, trainers and Community Care staff can better understand the needs and challenges of senior learners. It helps them tailor their approaches accordingly and adopt engagement methods to create a senior-centric and meaningful learning experience.
Who are the guidelines designed for?
These guidelines are designed for:
- Trainers, facilitators, programme developers, organisations who design and deliver programmes and activities to increase the effectiveness and participation for seniors.
- Community Care staff such as administrators and volunteers who want to connect and build meaningful relationships with seniors.
