Medical Escort and Transport Portable Subsidy Sandbox

About the sandbox

The Medical Escort and Transport (MET) Portable Subsidy Sandbox is an AIC initiative that explores a new approach to support eligible clients who require MET services for healthcare appointments. 


Under this initiative, subsidies are provided directly to eligible clients, who may use them to access services from participating organisations.

 

The initiative aims to address growing demand by expanding service options, improving access to care, and generating insights to inform the development of future service delivery models.


AIC is inviting interested organisations to participate in this sandbox, which is expected to run from 1 October 2026 to 31 March 2028.
 

How the sandbox works

Participating organisations will provide MET services to eligible clients enrolled in the sandbox.


This includes:

  • Contacting eligible clients to explain the sandbox and confirm their participation.
  • Ensuring clients are safely accompanied to, from, and throughout their medical appointments, where required.
  • Assisting clients with transport arrangements, including setting up transport applications where required, and booking taxis using vouchers or codes issued to clients.
  • Collecting any applicable co-payment from clients.
  • Submitting utilisation reports to AIC on a regular basis.

Criteria

Your organisation should have:

  • Trained healthcare staff to safely support clients requiring MET services.
  • Operational capacity to meet anticipated service demand of at least 23 trips per day, while ensuring reliable and consistent service delivery.
  • Relevant experience and track record in supporting clients with needs similar to those requiring MET services.

Organisations are invited to contact us at aic.homecare@aic.sg by 27 August 2026 to express their interest in participating in the sandbox. 

 

AIC will follow up with interested organisations and provide further information on the application and assessment process. Participation in the sandbox is subject to AIC's evaluation and selection process.
