Since 2005, Messkena has sown seeds of her passion in organic farming, becoming a beloved figure in her local gardening community. Despite having a full-time job, Messkena continues to pour her heart and soul into tenderly caring for the plants after her work hours. Her dedication shines through her leadership at the Khatib neighbourhood community garden, which earned a platinum award at the Singapore Garden’s Festival in 2018.

Embracing nature’s gifts, she makes homemade compost from shed leaves and pesticide-free materials, which is highly sought after by her fellow gardeners. Her creativity meets practicality when she recycles discarded plastic bottles to shield her plants. Messkena generously shares her wisdom and homegrown harvests with her neighbours and fellow gardeners, spreading joy to all around her.

On multiple occasions, Messkena donated organic vegetables that were freshly harvested from the Khatib community garden to the Food From The Heart distribution centre in her neighbourhood.
