Introduction

Active Ageing Centres (AACs) provide a range of activities for seniors to be active and connected. These centres provide opportunities for seniors to stay physically and mentally active explore interests and meet other seniors. Seniors who wish to give back to the community can also choose to volunteer at AACs.

 

Besides AACs, there are also centres called Active Ageing Centres (Care). These centres offer the same services as AACs, and additionally provide care services such as day care and community rehabilitation.

 

Who is this service for?

 

This is for:

  • Seniors aged 60 and above
  • Singapore Citizen or PR regardless of housing and income
     

Services provided

 

Services/ activities at AACs may include:

  • Active ageing programmes: Fun activities like karaoke, arts and crafts, cooking and exercises to keep the mind and body active.
  • Befriending and buddying: Home visits and phone calls for vulnerable seniors.
  • Information and referrals: Get help with understanding and applying for useful eldercare-related schemes, grants or support.
  • Social connector: AAC staff/ volunteers provide social and lifestyle interventions to support seniors in adhering to their health plan recommendations.
  • Community screening(s): Seniors can measure vital signs in adherence to their health plan.
  • Volunteer opportunities: Seniors who wish to give back can volunteer at the AAC.
  • Emergency alert response: AAC staff at selected centres respond to emergency alerts from seniors in distress.
