Introduction
General Practitioners (GP) and polyclinics under this scheme can assess, diagnose and treat mild to moderate mental health conditions. If necessary, the doctors will refer you to the appropriate specialists for support.
Who is this service for
For those who wish to manage both their mental health and chronic conditions with the same doctor or polyclinic.
Services provided
The doctors can conduct early identification, assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and stabilisation for your mental health/ dementia issues. They will also co-manage your conditions with the community mental health teams who will provide non-pharmacological intervention such as counselling and psychotherapy.
Cost
Consultation costs may vary between clinics, but you may tap on CHAS and Medisave for your outpatient treatment.
- Mental health conditions like schizophrenia, depression, bipolar disorder, and anxiety are covered by Medisave under the Chronic Disease Management Programme (CDMP)-Mental Illness. This means you can use your Medisave to pay up to $500 of your outpatient treatment cost per year.
- The Community Health Assist Scheme enables all Singapore Citizens to receive subsidies for medical care at participating GP clinics. More details here.
