First Stop for Mental Health

 

If you are seeking mental health support but are unsure about the type of support you need, you may call, click or visit friendly care professionals via the First Stop for Mental Health:

  • CALL: National mindline 1771 or WhatsApp Text 6669 1771 to talk to a mental health counsellor 24/7
  • CLICK: mindline.sg for self-help resources; or
  • VISIT: Community mental health teams or connect with CHAT. Search for your nearby teams using the CMH Wayfinding Tool.
     

Community mental health teams

 

There are over 100 community mental health teams who serve as your First Stop for Mental Health. They offer services like counselling and therapy, at no charge. Your visits will also be kept strictly confidential. 

 

The teams comprise trained care professionals who can give you reliable, high-quality help regardless of which level of support you need and your age group.

 

Besides the community mental health teams, there are also General Practitioners (GPs), polyclinics, and hospitals that provide mental health support. Other long-term care services include the psychiatric day care and rehabilitation services.

There are also online modules that allow you to learn more about mental health and support before taking the first step. These will help you understand the conditions and identify signs and symptoms early to get help.
 

You can find the online modules here. Upon completing each module, you will receive an e-certificate.

Financial subsidies

Community mental health teams are fully funded by the government. If you are seeing a GP/polyclinic, you can tap on CHAS and Medisave for your outpatient treatment.
