Introduction

The Cognitive Intervention Programme (CIP) is a 7-week programme to help participants maintain or improve their cognitive (eg attention, focus and memory) and social abilities.

Who is this service for

Singapore Citizens or PRs diagnosed with mild to moderate dementia who are suitable for group-based activities.

Services provided

Participants can expect to take part in CIP sessions twice a week for 7 weeks. Each three-hour session focuses on these key areas:

  • Cognition: Activities that stimulate the brain and memory functions (eg word and memory games)
  • Physical: Exercises to encourage movement and fitness (eg resistance training, silent disco)
  • Social engagement: Fun group-based activities to promote social interaction (eg art and music sessions)

After the 7 weeks, participants can choose to continue with weekly CIP sessions on a maintenance basis for another 26 weeks.

Besides activities for persons living with dementia, the service providers also support caregivers with resources and information, so that they can better care for their loved ones.

For actual activities offered, please check with the service providers directly. Search this map using a postal code, address or your device’s current location.

FAQs

Household monthly income per person is the criteria used when there is a household income. (“Household” refers to the NRIC address)

It is calculated as the total gross household monthly income divided by the total number of family members living together in the household. Gross monthly household income includes basic employment income, trade/self-employed income, overtime pay, allowances, cash awards, commissions, and bonuses.

When there is no household income, Annual Value (AV) is used instead. AV is the estimated gross annual rent of a property if it were to be rented out, excluding furnishings and maintenance fees. It is determined by IRAS, and may be checked via IRAS website. Subsidy levels in 2026 will be determined using 2025 Annual Values.

To check or update your household information for means-testing, please use the MediShield Life Household Check e-Service. Alternatively, you can call the Medishield Life Hotline at 1800 222 3399.
