Roles and Salary Guidelines
The Community Care sector in Singapore is dedicated to helping seniors live well and age gracefully in their own homes and communities.
Whether you are a recent graduate, mid-career switcher, or senior looking for meaningful work, the sector offers a wide range of roles across both clinical and non-clinical areas. Salary guidelines for different roles, as provided by the Ministry of Health, can be downloaded here.
AIC provides a variety of schemes and programmes that support the sector to develop your skills and reach your fullest potential. These include the Community Care Nursing Leadership Programme and Community Care Manpower Development Awards. Sector scholarships are also available to students with a passion for community care.
SCCAs provide quality daily living care for seniors and ensure the smooth implementation of new operational procedures. SCCAs are able to perform delegable nursing tasks and work closely with Clinical and Therapy teams to promote independent living skills for the seniors.
Support care staff play a crucial role in assisting clients with daily living activities and basic patient care, following established protocols. Their work includes providing clinical, personal, therapy, and psychosocial care, all tailored to enhance the well-being of their clients through individualised care plans.
Roles in this area include Community Care Associates (CCAs), Healthcare Assistants, Basic Care Assistants, Nursing Aides and Therapy Aides. CCAs can look forward to a structured progression pathway via the Community Care Career Track.
Allied Health Professionals bring specialised expertise to prevent disease transmission, diagnose and treat patients, and support rehabilitation. Integral to the healthcare system, AHPs include occupational therapists, physiotherapists, speech therapists, medical social workers, dietitians, and more.
Administration and operations teams are essential to the smooth running of Community Care organisations. Supporting day-to-day processes, these staff members work across various functions, such as Human Resource, Communications, Finance, IT, and programme development, ensuring clinical staff have what they need to provide high-quality care.
