Roles and Salary Guidelines
The Community Care sector in Singapore is dedicated to helping seniors live well and age gracefully in their own homes and communities.
Whether you are a recent graduate, mid-career switcher, or senior looking for meaningful work, the sector offers a wide range of roles across both clinical and non-clinical areas. Salary guidelines for different roles, as provided by the Ministry of Health, can be downloaded here.
AIC provides a variety of schemes and programmes that support the sector to develop your skills and reach your fullest potential. These include the Community Care Nursing Leadership Programme and Community Care Manpower Development Awards. Sector scholarships are also available to students with a passion for community care.
SCCAs provide quality daily living care for seniors and ensure the smooth implementation of new operational procedures. SCCAs are able to perform delegable nursing tasks and work closely with Clinical and Therapy teams to promote independent living skills for the seniors.
Support care staff play a crucial role in assisting clients with daily living activities and basic patient care, following established protocols. Their work includes providing clinical, personal, therapy, and psychosocial care, all tailored to enhance the well-being of their clients through individualised care plans.
Roles in this area include Community Care Associates (CCAs), Healthcare Assistants, Basic Care Assistants, Nursing Aides and Therapy Aides. CCAs can look forward to a structured progression pathway via the Community Care Career Track.
Allied Health Professionals bring specialised expertise to prevent disease transmission, diagnose and treat patients, and support rehabilitation. Integral to the healthcare system, AHPs include occupational therapists, physiotherapists, speech therapists, medical social workers, dietitians, and more.
Administration and operations teams are essential to the smooth running of Community Care organisations. Supporting day-to-day processes, these staff members work across various functions, such as Human Resource, Communications, Finance, IT, and programme development, ensuring clinical staff have what they need to provide high-quality care.

Ang Mo Kio – Thye Hua Kwan Hospital Ang Mo Kio – Thye Hua Kwan Hospital is a community hospital providing quality rehabilitative care that caters to patients recovering from stroke, fractures and other debilitating medical conditions.
The multi-disciplinary team work closely together to chart a customised rehabilitation programme for each patient during their stay. Their aim is to help patients regain their independence and facilitate safe integration into society after their discharge. |

AWWA is a social service organisation that serves persons of different demographics across life-stages. Services include early intervention for pre-schoolers, education and disability support for children and adults with additional needs, assistance to low income families, caregivers, and health and social assistance for vulnerable seniors. AWWA is Singapore-based, with an Institution of a Public Character (IPC) status. |

Bright Hill Evergreen Home (BHEH) is a 248-bedded, accredited non-profit nursing home. BHEH believes that residents should enjoy life to the fullest encompassing gracious and healthy living and at the same time, minimising ill health and retaining maximum use of their physical and mental faculties. BHEH commenced the operations of a 188-bedded new Annex Building in April 2022, to continue providing holistic nursing and medical care to senior residents residing in the vicinity. |

Caregivers Alliance Limited (CAL) Caregivers Alliance Limited (CAL) is a non-profit organisation in Singapore dedicated to meeting the needs of caregivers of persons with mental health issues through education, support networks, crisis support, tailored services and self-care enablement. While there are other organisations providing support to the community affected by mental health issues, only CAL focuses exclusively on supporting caregivers. |

Caregiving Welfare Association Caregiving Welfare Association was established in 2004 with the mission to improve the quality of life of seniors through dependable direct services, and to inculcate a generation of responsible and knowledgeable caregivers in an ageing population. Their services cover three core areas – Elderly Wellness & Social Support, Welfare Support and Education & Awareness. Through strategic partnerships and thrusts, it aims to make eldercare accessible to the elders in our community and to their caregivers. |

Founded in 1981, Care Corner Singapore is a non-profit organisation with the Institution of a Public Character (IPC) status. Woven into the fabric of the community, they work with community partners, donors and volunteers to uplift lives of the marginalised.
